New offer given to me about 2001 TT - Opinions

2001 Audi TT
Quattro 225
Red Convertible with luxory / leather interior
60,000 miles
New Clutch / New Brake Pads / New Battery / New Radio

All in all it is in real good "used car condition". It's not perfect, but no used car is. Now, the salesman called and said the manager wanted to "move on this car". The manager then called me. The price given would come to about $16,000 after dealer rebates. What do you all think?

Ok deal. Plan on spending an extra $1500 to $2200 on the maintance due at 60k miles. Timing belt andall fluids. It also should of had the brake rotors replaced at the same time as the pads (both are due about 65k miles).

Not a bad deal if all the maintenance has been done that's necessary at 60k. If it hasn't then get them to knock about$1500 off the price and you will have a deal.

$1,500 - $2k for 60k maintenance? wtf? lol.

find a good shop that will do it for far less. get a timing belt + water pump for roughly $100 or so and have a decent shop do it for nearly half that price. if that. not worth it at the dealer.

but all in all, have the dealer do your timing belt + water pump (+ belt tensioner if you can) job. saves you a bigger headache in the long run~

The $1500 assumes the fluids need to be replaced (awd/halidex fluid is over $400 alone at most dealerships near me), tires, and brakes as well. TB in my area runs about $900.

The fluids for halidex for me cost $150.

$400 for a haldex fluid change?!?!

Holy hell! For that price you could buy the fluid, jack stands, floor jack, haldex filter, haldex filter wrench, and have money left over!

DIY FTW!

Please keep in mind that there are NO REBATES on USED CARS! Also what was the price they were originally asking for the car?
