wtf? tirerack gave me free lug bolts when I bought rims from them. I HIGHLY doubt they were that much. I've been using them for a while now too. I'm really glad I didn't toss my old ones now.

I'm am by no means a car junkie, and really feel stupid for having to ask this question, but I can't find any answer anywhere. Maybe there isn't a single straight answer, but here goes:

I bought a used 2001 Audi TT that had aftermarket American Racing chrome rims. I love the stock Audi 5 spoke alloywheels, so I bought some used ones to replace the aftermarkets. I had no idea it would be such a beating to find lugs. The aftermarket lugs don't work because they are conical. None of the three Audi dealerships in town have them in stock. One dealership mentioned they were 14x1.5 then he also mentioned 27 somewhere in there. I assume that is shank size? They also wanted $7!!! That would be $140 for lugs!

I'm trying to find a place to buy them locally but have no idea what to ask for. The standard AutoZone, NAPA, etc. don't have them. I did find one place that had some FEBI? bolts and wanted $3 per. He seemed knowledgeable but said his system was saying they should fit TTs produced before april 01.

Then you have websites like this that have the 14x1.5 lugs, but they have about 10 different shank sizes, 24mm, 28mm, etc.

http://www.ezaccessory.com/Lug_Bolt_Ball_Seat_p/986.htm

Am I missing something? Are there that many variations on STOCK wheels for a 2001 TT?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
EzAccessory is great. I've got lugs from them twice now without issues. For the fat fives you need ball seat, 14x1.5mm, 28mm stock. If you use spacers, then add the length accordingly. Most aftermarkets use conical seat bolts. Those are hard as hell to find long without paying an arm and a leg.
