Default No AM reception

Hi gang. I have not been able to get any AM reception since I purchased the car in April. FM is crystal clear. What is causing this? Has anyone had experience with this and if so, did buying an aftermarket antenna help?

I have the same problem. Maybe someone knows. Do you have an aftermarket radio?

I can't say I've EVER tuned the car to AM. If I need some extra ambiance in the car, I just wind up the polyphone in the back.... ; )

I really thought I knew the answer to this... but I can't remember what the deal is with the AM antenna. I DID know, its just not coming to mind tonight. First thing I'd do is check whatever connections you can.

The window tint reduces am reception, fm is fine though. I would guess an aftermarket antenna would fix it, since the metal in the tint would no longer be an issue.

Maybe that's what I was thinking.... if the lines on your rear window are scratched thru, then your antenna may possibly be cut off from the system. Hows the rear defrost work?

Not real familiar with the wheels. They say "NS Racing" and are 17s. I think they are pretty cheap. I suspect the cheapness as the tires are "Spectrum", never heard of em'. The glass is fine but the tint may be a bit dark...maybe that's the prob.

The lines don't need to be cut. The reception well be reduced with tint regardless.
