Default No hangers on downpipe

Well I just got off the phone with the shop and its in. He did mentioned a worry tho. I didn't even think of this but there are no support hangers for this dp. Is this normal for any of the aftermarket dp's? The stock system has a beefy hanger near the tail end of the cat to give some midway support. Anyone else with a DP encounter this. The shop owner says thats a lot of weight hanging off the turbo....

My stock 180 pipe had no hangers on it and neither did the replacement. The combination of the turbo and the catback should hold it snug enough.

Its not that big of a deal. With two fixed end points and a flexpipe on it, its not going to move any.

My hanger between the cat and muffler has snapped off.
It's either been that way since I bought the car, or happened shortly after I bought her... which was 19 months ago.
No problems to date, but it is giving me an itch for a new cat-back.... [sm=innoc.gif]

Man this thing rocks!! I am getting a few more PSI also, the pics online do not give justice to the difference between the stock pipe and the 42DD pipe. The stocker looked so tiny in comparison. That IS the most restrictive part of the exhaust system.

As far as not having any hangers, The pipe is not rattling at all (alright cincy...you were right [:-]). Occasionally I will hear a small thud on hard accelleration but nothing too distracting or very loud at all (only detectable when the stereo was off). I was worried about the dreaded rattles everyone was speaking about because I do not have the dogbone kit. Luckily no rattles here!!

The exhaust note has changed that is for sure...it's a deep rumble in the mid RPM range when you punch it. Very diferent than stock. I would recommend 42DD DP to anyone, like someone mentioned before..it's almost like getting chipped again! Now I wish my catback would get here soon.
