Default Oil Change$

sooo i've been going to Audi West Covina (sponsor to your right hand side ~&gt aaand the oil changes that they're charging is around a grotesque $160. i forget.ive taken it to afirestone ONCE and it was half the price, but i'm sure it was half the quality [:'(]

i've tried doing my own the 1st time around, but ive since gone lazy and the filter is a bitch to get to.

any one get similar prices at the dealer/shop?

The filter isnt that hard to warrent $100+ oil changes. The spillage sucks, but thats about it.5qrts full syn oil = $30, filter $5-10 so its should only cost you about $40 after tax and about 20mins of your time.

That does seem a bit excessive. My dealer does them for $80. Still kinda high, but that includes synthetic oil, factory filter and the peace of mind that some moron who doesn't know how to do anything on a car like an Audi has not come anywhere near my car.

And no, I'm not lazy or stupid. I work over 50 hours a week and have a 3 hour round trip commute every day. I don't have the facilities to properly drop the lower shield on my cars and don't want to try to drain all the oil out with the car pointed up on a pair of ramps.

The filter isnt that hard to get out.... the shield comes right off and took me about 20 min total and that was my first time under there... in my condo parking lot and the (ramps) actually help get all the oil out when the cars front end up in the air do it yourself!

You're still not safe at an Audi dealer...

me- I'd like a haldex filter and a tube of oil

parts guy- whats haldex?

then procedes to get me an engine oil filter.
