how many miles can i go without changing fully synthetic 5-40 oil? or at what intervals SHOULD i change it?

 

every 5k mi IMO.

unless you drive it like you stole it.. then I'd say every 3k..

I heard synthetic can go 8k w/o issue.

 

i do about 6k and then when i have time.

but yeh, it doesn't look too dirty at 3k... but thats the point. I had a cam gear seal replaced by the dealer a while ago and the head technician told me I had the best looking motor he had ever seen, they had a brand new A4 in the bay with only a couple thousand miles havingwork done, the guy said he would have thought my carwas the one with a couple thousand miles on it... so I'm trying to keep it that way
