Default Oil Change Interval Question

Does Audi provide an oil change interval in the owner's manual that relates to both time and mileage (e.g. 3 months or 5000 miles, whichever comes first)?

What type of oil is used in the latest Audi engines?

I've been looking more at the TT ever since they announced possible plans to make a TT-R and TT-RS.

Thanks in advance!

yes audi's interval is every 10,000 miles for a synthetic 5w-40 oil change. I would not wait that long if I were you, 5,000mi. max. I change mine every 3,000

Do they have any time limits?
Like, every 10k miles or 6 months, whichever comes first?

synthetic doesnt break down like reg oil. Changing a full syn 502 approved should happen between 5-7k miles. I personally think its wasteful to change it before then.

I don't think so, you're oil might not be breaking down, but that doesn't mean its not picking up debris.

If I remember right, my TT manual mentioned some thing about a 7K oil change, but filter twice as often (kinda goes with that debris thing).

I'll continue changing my oil and filter at 4K, I'd rather pay a little more now for oil/filter, than to prematurely wear out my engine. At this point, I'm approaching 134,000 miles on the TT.

So everyone here just changes the oil when they reach the mileage and not at a predetermined time? I drive about 3000-6000 miles each year.

Do you only drive short distances, or just not drive the car often?

I drive to work and back 95% of the time (10-15 miles each way).
