I just hit the 1000 mile mark and when I was checking the oil level on the dipstick I smelled gas on the oil. I also opened the oil cap to smell it and it also smelled like gas?

Is it worth bringing it in to the dealer or is this normal?

 

Not normal and sounds like it's running rich. One possible reason is you have a bad injector and it's supplying too much fuel to the engine. Unused fuel isn't getting burned and going past the rings and into the oil. The part number for a fuel injector used for a 2.0 engine is a popular seller for our sales history. My guess, fuel injector, possibly more than one. It's worth a trip to your dealer to see if you both smell the same thing.
