which one is better DV?
im planning to change my DV (maybe) so i wanted to know which is the best one. if you answer other, please specify what brand/model. how would i know if my stock DV is bad already?
That Forge Splitter is cool.
But, there are theories that anything without full recirculation the car detects that there isn't as much air as there should be, and can put your car into limp mode. It happens to me when I've been drving for a while, like over an hour or so... the car would see stock boost levels and a steady 70 mph, and after a while would go into limp. Rayveedub suggested it, so I converted back to full recirculation from the recirculate/blowoff mode. Hasn't gone limp since.
On another note, around town driving short distances, I never had problems. The sound can actually get annoying after a while, especially when your lady is riding with you and she points it out!

Basically it comes down to how much noise you want.
little - 007
some - splitter
lots - 004
it doesnt hold boost or releases boost before you let off the gas. The easiest ways to tell are watching the boost gauge and taking to air box cover and filter off/ add in a cone filter. With that done, if it sounds like a goose, its bad.
Cincy-
Please note I specified that there are THEORIES about the splitter. My post was to inform the guy of a situation that nobody else on here could figure out (see my thread on limp after long drive) Nobody else but Rayveedub suggested the splitter as the problem, and apparently he was right. Since I went to full recirc, I haven't had the limp after long drives. Every car acts different, everybody knows that.
Act right.
