Only 60 More Miles!
Drove to Nurburgring in my new '04 TT 3.2L to watch the F1 qualifying. Only 60 more miles and I'll hit the magic 600 miles and can open it up a bit. Still got to cruise at 100 mph most of the way (90 mile trip), which felt a bit slow. I don't get real attentive until over 120. The car handled the speed well and felt planted and sure footed in fast bends. On the autobahn, there's plenty of speed zones (mainly due to construction) and so I got to feel the torque a bit as I'd accelerate from around 45 to 100 through 4th-5th-6th. On the drive back to the ring tomorrow for the race, the fun factor will definitely be up. Tomorrow is promising to be a bit windy, so that'll be another test.
Go Schumi!
Cheers!!!

Yeah
Now I'm at 813 miles, and the car is covered with bugs! Had to take a round about way to get home due to the traffic routing. Nurburgring has only 2-lane roads that feed it, so getting in and out of there with a lot of traffic is challenging.
Great race. My ticket put me directly across from the Toro Rosso pit, just shy of the put exit. Cars were always at speed when passing in front. Very exciting race, and Germans go crazy for Schumacher, so it was awesome to see him win in front of a home crowd.

I ended up going by myself, so I decided not to bring the digital camera or MiniDV video. I took both to Spa for the F1 race in '04 (where Schumi clinched his 7th title), but I found them both to be not worth the trouble for the limited use.
My seat ended up being awesome. Got to see plenty of practive starts at the Pit exit. Drivers would stop and practice start from there. Crazy acceleration from a dead start. Also got to see Button's engine explode right in front of me. That guy has no luck other than bad.
I can't believe the US market gets a 130 mph limited speed. The car just starts to get into its element at 130...then it bounces off the limiter. Really sucks. Can the system be flashed to get rid of the limiter? Damn US market!
