Opinion Needed/Changing Spark Plugs
I was questioning a loss of initial boost I felt after after getting my car chipped. With all the talk recently on the board of spark plugs and coil packs I decided I'd change my plugs and go a step colder since I don't know when the last time, or if, the last owner head ever changed them. I was reading this how to and wanted to know others opinions of it. I looked under the hood yesterday and mine didn't look this complicated. It looked like I could undo a couple bolts and move parts away to get at the two blocked coil packs. The how to is here: http://www.wak-tt.com/225sparkplugs/225sparkplugs.htm
The other question I had was did I need an extension for my wrench (I'm guessing I do) to get the plugs out? If so what would be the length I need to get?

Just make sure to have a hex key (I don't remember which size). If your coilpacks are the push-in kind (as in, they have no bolts on them), then I've braced a screwdriver underneath them to help leverage and rock them back and forth (making it easier to pull them out).
Also, make sure you have a 10mm socket (for the nut that holds that black box you'll see blocking cyls 3 and 4).
Other than that, have at least 6 inches of extension on the plug wrench and get them torqued to 15 lbs....
Just buy a gapping tool -- you should always check the gap when you're doing the plugs anyway. Just be gentle, and go slowly! Tapping very very gently with a small hammer will work (just cover the tip of the plug with cloth).... Think of it more like "nudging" it, lol.
hahaha, niiiiiice. It doesn't matter how big the office is, it's still awful (I have 2 offices in this building, one is my little corner in the back of the building and the other is the giant conference room!)
Yeh, it makes it a ton easier to have a plug socket and since you need to be changing those plugs about every other oil change, the plug socket would be a good thing to have
Done deal. Not very hard at all. Two of the four clips were already broken off so I at least know the spark plugs were changed once. Thanks for the help toeveryone that wasinvolved.
