Default overhead dome light, no worky

So I noticed tonight my overhead interior lights were not working. I know there are 3 seperate bulbs up there but are they all on the same fuse? because when I played with the center on/off/default switch nothing happened, but if I pressed the map lights on either side, they both worked [>:]

any clue whats up?

mine does that occasionally. It was like that for a few months... and it just came back on last night. No clue what it is, maybe a loose connection inside the fixture I would imagine. Haven't had a chance to pull it off and check it all.

mine just got funky like that too. Flick it good and hard and sometimes it turns on, other times no. Theres a timer/switch up in there I believe, and it's either got a bad connection, or its going bad.

Hey, I have the same problem with my dome light. I thought it was a fuse, went and checked it, no luck fuse is good. The lights on my radio and red light under the radio do not work either....what gives

Mine the same. I just recently tried taking it apart to see whats up. turns out mine is somekind of short. I had the doors open, lights turned fully on, not automatic. No lights, so I started pulling the fronts, and just with a little force, bam they came on. Shut the doors, turned them on automatic again, nothing. Nothing with them fully on, and then I pulled again and they came back. Point is, Im almost positive it is some sort of short. Ex Girlfriend had a Passat, she took hers to the dealer for similar problems and they just replace the whole thing.

Push up on it really hard or smack it, usually brings it back on for me.
