did my buddies jetta and he came with a bank 1 system too lean P0171 bentley pulls up a lot that could possible just wondering if anyone has any help or knowledge of what to fix or narrow it downsame engine as the 180TT he has the 2002 1.8T

 

I had that code within a week of owning my 180TT and the guys on here helped me narrow it down to the MAF. I pulled it and cleaned it with electrical cleaner. After I put the MAF back in and cleared the CEL it popped back on within a few miles but after a long trip (90miles or so)it cleared itself and no problems since.
