Default passat oil filter?

Does anyone know a part number on the passat oil filter?
I need to do an oil change this week.
Does the oil filter come with a crush washer? if not, will the passat one fit as well?
(don't feel like driving to VW for the filter and then to audi for a stupid washer.)

thanks!

Don't know the part number but all VW and Audi oil filters use the same thread pitch. Meaning you could thread on just about any oil filter to any engine thats made by Mann.
Try to stick with a 1.8T filter though, you could also use the honking huge ones that goes on the A4 if you wanted to.

Just look it up in the catalog (later models) on the parts store. All of them carry it and make sure you buy an extra qrt of oil.

I bought the oil change kit from ecs with the bigger filter but it only came with a 5 quart jug of oil. You think I should buy an extra or should I be good? Also at the tip of the filter is a weird looking thing, i dont know how to explain it but it looks like there is a tool that you can use it either tighten or loosen but not both. Any ideas what it is?

you sure its not for a socket wrench to undo the filter later? All i can say is fill it up and see on the oil level. I dont remember how much oil it took since the last time i did the large filter i had 2qrts of oil that werent full that i used. So i had 4 full and 2 mustly full qrts and it took all of it. So im guessing the filter holds another .4-5qrts

That would be the 1.8T B6?
