Did a search, and so far all I could find was that damn VIS blue TT that looks terrible with that hood, IMO. I just purchased a CF hood for my nimbus grey, now wrecked, TT. I had to get a hood anyway, and figured this would be cheaper than getting one from audi and painting it.

The damages come out to $5,500... sucks.

Are you sure you want to go with a CF hood? When they make those things. The majority of the CF hoods are tweaked. Some of them are even curved (going the length of the hood). And you gotta remember, in time due to heat, rain (the elements). Your hood will start to oxidize, change color and crack in certain places.

Though I haven't checked on prices for CF hoods for this car. But I am pretty sure ones from VIS are gonna cost you about 300+? Either way you are gonna need a new bumper and will have to paint what.

VIS/seibon are quality parts and wont oxodize for awhile.

as for carbon hoods... it's hit or miss on a TT. safe route is to color match the hood to your car so the lines end in where the grille/headlights start so the c/f is aligned with grille quite nicely.

Yeah I got a VIS one... I assume to just keep it protected with some good wax would do wonders. It is garage kept as well.

I am also putting on the 3.2 bumper

 

pretty sure therehas been a hood for sale on vwvortex in the past month or so in your color, search it out. obviously modder's choice,but not a look I would say suits a german car. you arent going to see any weight savings from it really, so its an aesthetic choice

 

That hood from VIS is going for like 700+ on ebay.

 

There is a clear coat on the cf hood to make it all nice looking and protect it. The difference is when metal is in a crash, it crumples, cf however cracks apart. Shouldnt be a huge issue unless you T bone someone at 60mph+

Anyways, cf hoods look good on some cars, the TT isnt one of them. The reason is that the hood rolls over the fender which i dont like. So i would go with painting it also. This will keep it looking nice always and not for years.

And yes, i had a Lancer with one on and it cracked badly at only 15mph

 

You guys dont think it will look good even with as dark a color as mine?
