Being the Dr. here I'm going to step in.
(I have a Doctorate in Divinity) - Believe it or not. - Its true. (I went to a wicked strickt bible college) check it out www.pcci.edu (now check out the site students made) www.pensacolachristiancollege.com <-- go through both you'll laugh at how strict it was.
Anyways getting to point.
According to the Bible in it mentions homosexuality as an abomination, and was distroyed in sodam and gamora. - It also talks about in great detail how much of a sin it is.
-Christians are not wrong on that fact. - However most are very wrong with this...
"God hates gays" - "Kill um" -etc. Basically my point is, God teaches love, and God also teachs us about forgiveness as well as to show concern for others when they are sinning. - If these people were TRUE Christians. (I'm not judging them, not my place) - However if they were at least praticing Christians who read there Bible they would know, that God does show us to show concernment (which it does give us permission) - Just not judgement. --- Follow me so far?---- But when people move into hate or negitive comments ...things that are just pleasing people need to step back according to the Bible and question there own behavior first, and show love, and try and find understanding...and PRAY for the person. - Only God can fix people, not other people. - So our job is to show them love.
-Most homosexuals were abused mentally or physically. - That is fact - For Christians who say they are abused, shouldn't they show love and kindness? - Not what they've been dealing with there own lives?
Do I believe homosexuality is wrong? - Absolutely. - Do I love then any less than I do you or anyone else? - Absolutely not.
People need to learn to show love before judgement, and in that moment we are Christ like. (According to the Bible.) - Which I happen to read and believe in.
Hope this helps on the issue. - Book, Chapter and verses are available for those who would like them. - I'm just on ALOT of pain pills right now because of my bike accident, so I didn't take the time to find them, copy them, paste them.

everyone has there own opinions on all of these issues, but knowledge is key.
homosexuals don't choose to be the way they are. it's who they're attracted to.life would be much easier for them if they were straight.

In the Bible it also says that Jesus sat and ate with tax collectors and sinners...which was crazy forHis followers to see!!
But all in all...Jesus showed ZERO discrimination!! How can these people contradict themselves and call their organization Christian???
Before this discussion goes any further, let me state a few things I believe are very relevant to anyone who has the time, patience, and insite to read this post.
First, if you have not taken a thorough examination of why you believe what you do, I ask you to try to do so now. It will hopefully take some time, as one's belief system is of the utmost importance. Why do you believe what you do? Because you were raised that way? Is everyoneunbeliever wrong? If so, why? These are questions that you should be able to answer confidently, and if you can't, I would suggest further knowledge on the subject(s).
Second, trying to impose your religous beliefs on people is wrong. I'm not trying to point fingers, but to say anyones' beliefs are "non-christian" is wrong. We all have various beliefs, and, fortunately, people do have the right to believe what they want in this country. There are many forms of christianity.
Third,I do have a minor in religion from a prestigous four year college, and have spent a Winter in Canada studying various religions, so I think I have accurate insite on the subject.
Fourth, there are three ways toevaluate any canonical writings; literally, figuratively, and metaphorically.
It is unfair to quote the bible, or any canonical text, and apply it in literal terms (obviosusly, the ark story is not true...). The bible also suggests we stone people for minor accusations. Also take note, humansdecided which writings enter canonical text, if you would like specifics, refer to the council of Necaea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Council_of_Nicaea)
in which they, notably, disclude certain writings, such asone in which Jesus kills a child, and then brings him back to life, because he feels remorseful (although, according to the bible, Jesus never sins...).
Lastly, I'm a person, raised Catholic, who is now Athiest, who wholy believes that introspection into religious values and the views of other religions is of utmost importance. Please consider what you say in this post before you type it. Far too many times have I seen people blindly believe in what they do, and wish to impose their will on others.
I don't know if this will make much sense to you, but if you are still reading at this post, thank you. I appreciate your time and consideration in reading this message and hope you find your true belief system.
This post has absolutely nothing to do with TTs, but I find it enlightening, and therefore important, so I ask it remain open for further discussion.
On a side note - I do not believe in God or gods. This does not mean I have a disspationate feeling about God or gods. I do not hate God or gods, I simply do not believe in him. I am very much so comfortable in my religious beliefs, and only hope you (the reader) may feel as comfortable in your religious views as myself.

Thanks for your input!! My intentions of this post were to point out the fact that these people (what ever their beliefs are) were being totally unamerican...thats fine...let them do as they wish. But, as a person who is serving in the military...IT IS EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL to us...especially to those who gave thier lives, so that these people are free to do this.
This was in no way supposed to turn into a religious topic...but like you, i also find it interesting!
I also appreciate the time everyone has taken to read and reflect on this very delicate subject!!

alright... as a jew im not as familiar with christianity as most of you... however, based on homosexuality its not their fault, let them be... also, this westboro church was pointing straight at the army basically saying they are all "****"... thats not very nice... however, where this really gets out of control is when they protest at a soldiers funeral.... ok, jewish, christian, muslim, budhist, i dont care what you are, but when you protest at a funeral of a soldier of your own country then you have serious moral issues and action should be taken against you. Youd have every right to protest but at a funeral.. bad time, especially for someone fighting for your rights. IMHO, send that group of people over to witness the war just so they can see the brave men they call "****"

Remember though, all sins are punishable by death. - We are judged at death by Christ. - In the Bible he speaks of what happens to those who have not gotten right " saved " - they will go to hell. - Meaning homosexuals go to hell, not for the act of homosexuality but by the direct violation of sin.
Sin is sin. -
Homosexuality is as bad as lying to your spouse, speeding..etc - It is an act of sin. - Sin is Sin. - No sin being greater than any other sin.
Homosexuals like other sinners (whatever there sins may be) - are going to go to hell. - Thats a fact according to the Bible. - The Bible clearly talks about Salvation and what it means to Christians, and what is supposed to happen when a person is truly saved.
According to the Bible, Unless you are saved you do not go to Heaven. - Not me saying, thats fact.
- Homosexuals, born that way or not are sinners, and the act of sin itself is what will lead you to hell. - If they truly believe they are born that way, they can hold there transgressions and unmoral wants in just like other Christians. - There are many things that I do not involve myself with that my FLESH wants, however I dont. - (I try not to anyways) - Point being. - Sin is Sin. - If you dont like gay's pray for them, dont bash them because at that point your putting up a wall and will never be able to help them or love them. - Basically making you worse then they are.....
Ur friend,
Chris
