Default Is possible to survive snapped timing belt without damage??

yea, it happened. But I was doing just like 15-20 mph in 2nd gear. sudenly the engine stopped. I didnot hear absolutelly nothing. So I start to check out the fuses... but later on my mechanic told me that it was a broken timing belt. He will find it out later this week, but I just wanna know if somebody has the same experience..
audi tt quattro 2001 225hp
thanks

good news is you might have been going slow enough to not damage the guides. you are allowed a .3 crack before being out of spec. if you did crack the guides the head will have to be machined.

a local guy with a TT here had his break at idle and didn't damage anything, they still had to tear it apart to check but everything was ok. he is on this forum, name issmokn951 or something like that.

the pistons moving is far to much for the valves. How many rpms is more important that speed. If your lucky the pistons arent to bad. You mainly need new valves and smooth out the pistons if they have damage, again rpm dependant

he really should so a compression test or leak down test. Im sure it may appear to be no damage, but the valves may still be bent.
