Default Problem with TT

I have a light on and I'm not sure what it is. It's a triangle light with an exclamation point inside of it. What does it mean? Also what are the 4 little tabs on the top of the roof for?(I have a hard top) does the top come off? Thanks, The cornman.

I'm not sure what that symbol is. You can either look in your owner's manual or press the test system button in your car.
The test system button is the silver **** by the clock, just press it once.

The light is the asr/esp (depends on your year) and it flashes when it takes power away from the tires when they slip. If it is on, then the power is not going to be removed and you will have constant power and may lose control if you are not paying attention or cant drive. Turning the asr/esp off (light on) is better when you want to launch the car and not have the power removed and when you take corners hard and dont want the car to withhold power during the turn.

I was told, (but haven't checked) that the tabs were for a roof rack which makes sense. The roof comes off with a reciprocating saw or a qucik trip under a low truck.

That's the best explaination I've seen on this (better than the manual).
A question I have though, is why is he seeing it before hitting the button.Or is itauto?
I have to hit the ESP button on the dash for the light to come on.

mine just started to come on random like after a min of driving then when i shut the car off and the turbo timer counts down it goes away...its only done this twice.....so if it continues i might have to check the wiring near the haldex or something. not real sure if its that important cuz all that means is that the esp is turned off...my style of driving doesnt need the traction control anyway..

Are you refering to it flashing or it coming on and staying on without hitting the button? Ifit isflashing, it is just taking away power at that second or so. I have seen people have it stay on when they drive due to a dirty sensor and also because they drive it so on the edge it just turns itself off (light stays on).
