whats the ok mean behind the service red bix when turning the car on?
why does my car squeel after making a u turn or turning hard? power stering fluid? pump?
why do my breaks squeek? worn pads? dirty break pads?
why is my window not up all the way even tho it looks it and wind comes thru when on the freeway...hssssssssss!!! aghhh anoiying
even tho it was a nissan dealer and not an audi dealer ud think these things woiuld have been worked out! especialy for 15000 dollars!
also is it normal to here like a belt being driven under the hood its very quiet but i do here somthing moving under there with the hood up if u listen carfully?
well that all i got to whine about any help would be apriciated
the car is on a 6 mo 2000 mile warenty o do you think that is all warenty type stuff? this is my first car ever from a dealer so i dont know much about warenties and stuff

The OK means just that, all systems check out OK.

Squealing could be the accessory drive belt or perhaps the tires (different compounds react different ways on hard surfaces), my bet would be tires (assuming Quattro) and a sharp turn. I'd need more info as to the location you are hearing the noise from though.

Pads may be worn, check the material and see how much is left... They may have used a non-OE replacement pad with a different compound that could just make more noise than the OEM variants. There is also suppose to be anti-squeak material on the back of the pads, Audi uses a pre-applied adhesive but aftermarket pads usually require it to be added before installation.

The window may just need to be adjusted, take it to the dealer, using your warranty and get it fixed. If you are feeling especially cavalier about it I'd say adjust it yourself but given you have a warranty and your long list of concerns I'd hit up the dealer and be done with it. You shouldn't have to fix a car you just bought unless it was bought of that intention which this one clearly wasn't. The window seal itself could also be deformed or loose, again a dealer concern.

There is an engine with lots of moving parts, hearing a faint noise from it while the hood is up is normal. How many miles on the car? Has the timing belt been replaced? If so, how long ago? Accessory belts, when were they last serviced or at least inspected?

No offense but you mentioned you had a Z28 and some previous knowledge of cars, but these are all rather common and non-platform specific concerns that most DIY'ers should be somewhat already informed of. Take the car to the dealer, you have a warranty and shouldn't have to be troubled with problems, plain and simple.

 

well yes i do know about cars somwhat and have worked on them but ive nevr had a warenty* before and dint know what all that coverd
sory i gues i was just bichn cause i was mad for some reason lol but i guess looking back ive answered all my own questsions but i guess it want a totla waste of time cause the thing about the breaks yer saying is an "audi thing" that i didnt know about lol
i could shut off the service light and i can change the brakesand all that but i was just wondering if u guys thing that the dealer not being a audi dealer would fix that i gues that was my real question.
i havent even got the big plastic pices off the engine yet and lol yes i know engine makes noises lol but it shouldnt when the car is off lol like a belt is being driven er somthing lol but it can only be herd with the hood up lol sory i should have put when the engine is off lol

also how long do these lil engine go for 200k+? (before you have to start doing some major work on them, and replacing things every week lol)

 

As far as the window goes I hav the same problem.Theres 2 reasons,a microswitch in the door latch or the window motor is going.
If your window isdown likeabout half an inch or less, then Ill lean more towards the microswitch.

I would suggest taking that into the dealer and bitc* and moan till they fix it.
Hell 15k for a car that wont even roll up the windows the right way would be one of my key bitchen factors.

I didnt have a warranty with my purchase& until I get the new latch my car wont stop the hsss or beep when the lights are on [:@]

 

what beep? i will bitch at them tomaro lol its bs that i have to pay that much and its not like you can find all these kinks in a test drive u know it takes time lol!

 

The beep Im talking about comes on when the door is ajar and you turn your headlights on.
If you dont have a door ajar sign on the LCD then its probably the windmotor...... I should've thought about mentining that in my LP.

 

 

why don't you take it to an audi dealer and have'em do a used car check to see if everything else is in working order. that's what i did and it was only $95. they run a diagnostic on your car, check the haldex, stereo so forth and so on. relatively cheap price to pay to know that everything is working correctly and safely + you can see what has been done to you car via the vin#. that way you can tell if the previous owner had taken care of it like they should have. i was told who my previous owner was and i actually got to talk w/him personally. had a few questions since i noticed a few non-stock things...unfortunately it wasn't chipped

o mAN today my family and i all went to the snow and i too the lil audi and man it was so fun on all those windey mountain roads that little car i a beast on the curves lol
also a quick question do all u guys have a front sway bar under the hood? or is it not stock

 

If its under the hood then thats your strut tower bar.
The sway bar is under the car.
