I just got my new key and found a place to cut the key and only be 25 dollars to cut, is there a way to program the remote myself rather than bringing it to the stealer?
The key was from ebay so has no programming in it.

Wish I could have tried that after spending $180 at the dealer for another key and fob.

 

key programing is a different matter and diagnostic tools are required

 

so will this actually work? to program the immobalizer? or does it have to go to the dealer it is a brand new key.

 

the chip in the key has to be programmed into the system ( full working VAG can do it ) it has to be licensed to make it fully work though, other software and interfaces do the same

edit: you can integrate 8 remotes and keys but it needs proper diagnostic gear to do it ( the key programming is the point ) because its chip based and the remote plip/button isn't

 

so the key wont work to start the car unless it is brought to audi? it would just unlock the doors?

 

anyone got input on this?
