Default Q-tion about HID lights...

Hey guys new to the board. I hope you guys can help me with this and i'm hoping I am posting this in the correct spot. I purchased a complete headlight from a TT (2001) so I can take out the hid internals and put on on my 2003 GSXR 1000. I have 2 lead wires, Yellow and Brown. Brown I am assuming is the positive, that leads to the silver box ( ignitor?) from there, there are 3 wires that go to the black box (Transformer?) they are brown, yellow and green. I am not getting any voltage from there. From that transformer is the big wires going to the bulb plug. I guess my question is, can you not just hook it up to 12v source like I did? I can't get it to work. I hooked it up to a 12v source and nothing. What do you guys think? I really appreciate your help!

Brown is ground in this circuit. The yellow/blue or yellow/black is positive. Hopefully you didn't damage the transisters in the igniter box by hooking it up backwards.

Thanks for the responce. I hope I didn't fry anything either. If so, know where I can get another one? I took that silver box apart to check out the board to see what one is neg and positive. It appeard to me that the yellow wasn't going anywhere on the board but to a ground. Are you sure that isn't the case??
