I believe you... but your friend can't drive. Stock for stock a GTI should beat a 180 quattro. Especially the 2.0T.

no doubt his car is pretty quick...from 2nd gear roll...he pulled away from me with no chance of catching up...

 

I had a tough time with a 2.0 GTI.

I thought I was gonna walk him, barely took him.

I forgot to turn off my ESP, bogged down off the launch
I was trying so hard to stay ahead I had my ABS lock up stopping at a red light, I looked like an ***.

 

This was a few months ago, stock 225.

 

I kicked the living crap out of a MkV GTI on the highway, I was running a diode+MBC. I'd guess he was stock, judging by him and his passenger being a pair of gangster looking tools. From several 60 rolls it was no contest, I put it in fifth and took off. Up to 120 I put who knows how many cars on him.

My car must be a highway piece

 

Well TT guy , your audi would do much much better with a GIAC ECU. wink wink :P
