Default Radar Dectector Advice..

So i am looking into some radar detectors and wanted some personal opinions. If there is another thread about this just let me know and i'll read that, but what are some good brands, do you have to go to the expensive ones or do the cheaper ones still do the trick?

Valentine V1 would probably be my first choice for a good radar/laser detector, and to answer your last question, you get what you pay for. Cheap ones aren't gonna do much for you.

Another thing is most police I know of use laser exclusively, not radar, which isn't going to give you much chance considering they aim it at you and fire. When you get a warning, its probably at the same time the cop gets your speed. Escort makes a laser detector/jammer, which will block the cop from getting a reading for a few seconds before it resets, giving you time to slow down before the cop gets an accurate reading.

Thats 2 options for you to check out and see what you like best.

yes i agree the Valentine One is amazing, or at least it was amazing back in the day before cops stepped it up a lot.
I just wanted to know if it was a good idea or not anymore.. im not crazy or anything but it might be worth it.
I like the jammer idea.. but i think if i get caught i might be in a little more trouble than just the speeding ticket !

I have an escort 9500. It is the best rader I have ever seen. The gps allows you to lock out false signals so it never has a false alarm.

the original question was asking for help in choosing a brand / model radar detector. A lot of people have radar detectors and there are many uses for them. I would like to know what models people here like, not opinions about radar detectors. If you dont want to help then please just dont reply. thank you
