Ready to Buy TT - Help
I have been looking a the TT and have a specific one in mind. 2001 - Roadster - 225 Quattro w/29K dealer cert priced at $22K plus tax and such.
Two leased owners, serviced by the same dealer that has it now. I looked at at the service records and except for some brake adj the other items were replacing the fuel tank and later the fuel tank assembly. apparently some portion of the body rubbed against the fuel tank and caused a small hole. also the inst cluster was replaced. the other item currently noted was cam tensioner seals that are supposably leaking and were only cleaned up. the car seems clean and handles and drives well. I have only purchased new cars and am a little (okay, a lot) scared, but for a fun car I do not want to spend the new car price. Any feedback or advice ould be appreciated. Thanks.

RE: Ready to Buy TT - Help
Hi abarr2,
I bought my TT new, and it is one year old. So, I may not qualify to give you any advice on an used TT. However, in contrast to your reasoning, I think you should buy a new car for a fun car. As far as my personal experience with my TT, I love it! Its handling is superb. I had driven only Japanese cars prior to be the proud owner of my TT. My TT has a 250hp VR6 engine, and it has surprised so many performance cars at the intersection for its acceleration. It has not given me any problem except an known problem that is the rattling passenger seat.
That is my 2cent advice
