Do you guys have any tips for removing the rear rotors. They are stuck on there pretty good. I sprayed some wd40 and let it sit for awhile then hit it with a hammer but no luck. I'm going to stopped and get a rubber mallet on the way home and try again but I just wanted to see if anyone has any tips first. Thanks.

 

I haven't removed mine in a while but i'm pretty sure there is a screw holding it on.

 

thanks. i did take the screw out but the rotor is still on there pretty good. i think where i may be going wrong is that i didn't take the caliper carrier off so i am going to try that tonight and then beat it with a mallet if that doesn't work...

 

PB Blaster, rubber mallet, lots of grunting & groaning. If the rotor is crap or you're replacing it, metal hammers are your friend

 

Yes. Pickup some pb blaster and let it soak for 30 minutes.

 

i used some penetrating oil spray and beat it with a mallet. still nothing, i guess i need to try that pb blaster. is there really nothing else holding it on. where should i spray to get the best results.

 

you took the caliper and the 5 screw/ bolts in between the wheel threads. ?

 

Remove the calipers, then on the rotor there is 1 screw.. You need to remove that. Then use a hammer and hit the rotors hard. Hit it on the face of the rotor towards the edge. It will come loose. I just did mines 2 weeks ago.

 

I believe he said he got that screw already...

If all else fails, get a torch and heat it up (make sure there's no lubricant that could catch fire on there), that should help get it loose.

 

ok, i finally just loaded it up with spray and let it sit all night. first thing this morning i went out and hit it once really hard with a mallet and it fell right off, right onto my foot actually. thanks for all the help.
