Angry rear toe & camber problem

Driving a 2005 TT roadster 3.2L w/ Quattro.

So, I've been getting a ton of the whu-whu-whu tire noise that comes from uneven wearing tires. I took it to the dealer and he says that the rear tires are toed out as far as possible, but still aren't straight. According to him, it's a design flaw and Audi won't do anything about it, but that it's a common problem with 1st gen TTs. I've worn through a set of Pirelli P6s in 15k miles with normal driving.

Dealer suggested I look at adjustable control arms (Neuspeed) and rear toe adjusting bushings (Superpro). The only issue (other than paying money for something that Audi shouldn't have designed incorrectly) is that some websites say that these mods shouldn't be done if you have the self-adjusting xenon headlights.

Has anyone done this mod? Are these brands trustworthy? Will I totally screw up my headlights?

The headlight issue is that there is a small linkage that connects to the rear control arm. Either you reset it like it should be when you change control arms and your good, or you dont and your headlights aim too high or low, or you break the arm off the sensor because its made of plastic. Pretty easy to deal with. Neuspeed is good, there is/was a guy on here that was making adjustable arms that I've never heard any complaints about too.

You may find eventually that your eating up front tires sooner than you'd like as well. My fix was to pretty much replace every stock rubber bushing in the car with a poly bushing. Its stiffer, and you'll feel the road a little more, but the car handles much better, much less understeer, and tires have lasted much much longer. Thats part of the fix with the aftermarket control arm suggestion. You can spend an entire day getting the alignment perfect on the machine, but thats still just static alignment. As soon as you corner suspension geometry changes as the springs compress, bushings flex, and your tires end up pointing in weird directions until you straighten out from the turn.

Did you end up ordering the bushings? I just ordered the Superpro toe kit (100 Uk pounds)...and just installed a Kmac half kit. Should have never bought this POS in the first place. I've owned several vehicles and this is the only one that keeps me coming back to forums constantly searching for problem solving advice.

German engineering is amazing!
