Default Recommendation for infant car seat in a TT?

With a baby on the way I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for an infant car seat that would fit in the back of a TT. I know Recaro makes one for older kids and I heard a number of years ago that there was a model by Graco. But...since the seat designs change all the time due to new laws, anyone have any recent experience in this realm?
And don't worry, with a Subaru wagon also in the garage, you aren't going to be seeing my ride in the classifieds with the title "Baby on the way, need to sell"

A little different Age wise but we use my wifes TT to carry our 3 year old all the time... we have 2, we have a top of the range Britax, this one is both a rear and foward facing i think... the issue with this one when its forward facing is that it is non adjustable with regards to incline, and its natural state is a little reclined so our daughters head is almost facing the roof! lol...

As a result we went out and bout a Graco seat which is forward facing only and has an adjustable incline function, this works much better and will last a long time due to its versatility. The best thing is to see if you can try and friends seats to see how they fit in there?.... im not sure our TT has anchor bars though to securely fit the seat other than the seatbelt, so thats something you may want to investigate

I know that the previous owner of my TT had difficulty finding an approved carseat.

DRSMITH, how is the Britax when rear facing which is how I would be using it for a new born.

CMH, yeah, that's why I'm looking now before the baby is born, I have heard its possible to get a car seat in the back of a TT, I'm just not sure which models are favored.

Thanks for the input guys!

As you can see the passenger seat is shoved all the way forward and it would have to be adjusted so the back is really upright... not sure anyone could comfortably fit in the passenger seat for more than a short journey...

The main issue would be getting the baby in and out of the car seat.... You may be better buying a 'carry basket' style seat that has a anchor style base that can be left in the car, so you dont have to remove your baby from the seat to get them out, you just detach it and carry the whole thing out..... i dont have the Graco here so i can't take pictures... hope this helps?

Thanks for the great pics. Wow, there really isn't much room in back. Looks like the easiest way to get your child in and out of the car seat is via the hatch. I might try this weekend to see if I can get a Graco and a Britax to fit, or if I can find a Graco with a base unit that will let me attach the car seat so the infant faces backward. I'll let you know what I find.

yeah there isn't much room in there... so little for car seats my wife has said getting a porsche 911 will be viable if we can live with the TT haha... good stuff huh?!

The problem with the britax which is why we replaced it is the incline is not adjustable and it is quite inclined as standard hence takes up alot of room from the base to the seat infront. The Graco is much better but it is an infant seat not a new born one.... just pop into Babies R Us and see what they have for new borns and compare them to a britax they have there, as you know how they fit as you can now see for yourself!

No problems, just glad i can help out
