Recommendations for..
Greetings!
I'm rather new here but after looking on the search I couldn't find what I was looking for (though in truth I wasn't looking very hard... hah) which was really more of some recommendations for a few things.
One is the clutch. Exactly what clutches would you recommend to replace the stock clutch with? I don't need one yet but I need to see what is out there so I can plan for it.
Short Shifters. Which one do you prefer the most? Forge? Neuspeed? B&M? Would you also get the side-to-side or just the front-and-back one?
Bushings. I happen to have quite a bit of free play on my shifter when in gear and I wanted to relpace the stock bushings with some metal ones but I can't seem to find any (again, maybe its my looking in the wrong place). Any help on this would be appreciated.
Air Filters. Which ones do you prefer the most? Just a cone air filer from some random place or something more like the BMC TT Carbon Dynamic Airbox?
Yeah, its a bunch of questions but hey, I gotta start somewhere.
And that somewhere should probably include which one I have. Its a White 2002 TT 225 with 66400 miles. Completely stock.
Thanks for any help you can give.

It all depends, how much power you plan on making determines the clutch. Also no point in changeing unless its slipping. As for brands, Southbend, Clutchnet, Sachs, and Spec (in that order) are what i would go with.

The shifts are already short, most dont see a need to spend $200 on a shifter (since we arent lucky like the A4's and can get a $40 ebay B&M clone [:@]). But dieselgeek.com or nuespeed both make good shifters.

Metal? You mean urethane? You can get kits from TTstuff, ecstuning, and 034motorsport. You should replace the dogbone mount asap since it makes a huge improvement. Also you can get nice motor mounts from 034, you want street density for a DD car.

Refrain from boxed intakes. They are actually more restrictive than open filters. SOme will claim cooler intake temps but that is negated by turbo heat and compression. The best setup is this BPI stack and K&N filter. http://www.bpinitiatives.com/products.phpIf you dont want to mess with oil that can harm the maf, a AEM dryflow filter (6' wide 5" long) filter can be used instead for the same cost at aempower.com TOtal cost $100 vs $200-300 for worse results.

cincyTT,
Thanks for the advice. That's what I was needing. I don't have any plans on replacing my clutch just yet as its not slipping but I wanted to know some good replacements to keep in mind when the time comes so I know how much to save up for. I'd rather not go "oh, I have to replace my clutch now" and look in my bank account and find like $50 when I need $500 or something.
hmm. I'll take a look at those. I think I missed that part of TTstuff. Thanks for the other two places to look at.
That AEM air filter looks good but 6'5"? Which one of theirs are you talking about? That's a huge air filter.... [:-]
I didn't see on their site though that they made anything for Audi specifically so I'm assuming I'll just have to get one of their "universal" air filters (the AEM one)... I like that idea more than the oil + K&N air filter and a lot more than paying $300+ for a box air filter.
And while the throws are short, I prefer them shorter.
haha.
Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.
