I have a 2001 Roadster, which came with the CD changer.
That thing goes on as soon as I turn on the car; it makes a bunch of noise and the cartridge does not even eject. So I am planning to dump it in the trash and use that space for something better.
The wild idea would be to place one of these modern computers on a board; whcih works with SD cards and fits in a Altoids tin can, as media player; but then I figured out that I have no clue about the connections coming in the CD changer.
Did anyone re-purpose that space, and re-used the connections for the CD changer? I do not have the original radio so I don't use it anyway.
Can anyone help with a simple mod? I heard of products that you plug where the cd changer goes, that allow you to actually use your phone to play music using the existing speaker system.
