Default Resistor in MAF???

My MAF went bad, bought another one, check engine light came back on, ordered another one. The original and third MAF i got did not have a resistor on the sensor itself, the second one i got did. Is there a reason for this. Was the second MAF i got the wrong one??

return the second one -- our MAFs do not have resistors, but they DO have the slot for it. It is quite stupid, actually. It sounds like the reason the second one didn't work is because it HAD a resistor. What designation is your car? -- I am speaking for the 180 FWDs, and I heard someone mention that the Qs are the same.

Get your money back on that second one. Try cleaning the original one with MAF cleaner from an auto store. Do a search for a writeup... hope this helps.

hmm.. i figured when I posted pictures of the MAF out of my 180FWD w/ NO resistor and then posted pictures from another website showing NO resistor and then when avant finally realized the 2 original resistors were different models thatwas enough of an answer that NO resistor is supposed to be there.

oh and the original posted mentions the difference in the 2 MAFs in his original post

I have a Mercedes 3.2L V6 MAF sensorsitting next to my 180 FWD MAF sensor
