Rim Reputations
Just like to propose a thread...I know people are always asking opinions on the looks/fitment of their wheels/rims, but Id like to have one going on the reputation and attributes of the manufacturersto distinguish between them other than by style and more on quality, longevity etc. Ie OEM, Konig, Enkei, BBS, OZ, and others like ADR. Thanks in advance.
anything from Rays Engineering.
Volks, Gram Lights, etc. and id throw in Work in the mix.
all of StaSiS track cars pretty much use Volk CE28N's. ultra light-weight, forged rim can shave upto a sec. from ur 1/4.

i cant contribute much to this one but here ya go:
i had a set of konig tantrums on my old BMW e30 and they were perfect- stayed true, finish lasted forever. not bad at all.
i also had a set of AC schnitzers on my BMW e36 and those were pretty-much the best rims ever. expensive as hell but totally worth it. but alas, you will not find them for the TT.
and um....thats it.

I've been a fan of Schmidt wheels ever since I watched people try and beat the sh:t out of them without putting a scratch on the wheel. Type "schmidt wheels" into youtube...they beat one with a pipe, a brick, drive it head on into a curb and do a burnout without a tire mounted on the rim. Guess that's forged steel for you.

Kinda along the topic line. Herein Chicago, the ultra light-weight are not very practical. We have streets that resemble the moons surface (pot holes). I am sure they are durable, but, I dunno. BTW, what rims/size on yours in the sig pic? They are kinda what I am looking for.

umm the size i have on my sig are 17x8's, gunmetal Flik Justices. which are for sale btw
(that is, if red_sapphire backs down)
If you want lightweight and strength in a relatively cheap rim,
I can recommend the O.Z. Ultraleggerra
It's a cast wheel, so its easy to repair IF it gets damaged.
It is light (18lbs for 18X8) and strong.
I live in an are with bad roads and big potholes. I try to avoid them,
But sometimes you just can't. I was very scared a few times hitting a big one, I have bent a wheel before (stock).
The O.Z.'s have been perfect, so i didn't have to be scared.
I'm very happy with them, and they still look awesome.
