Default Roof Open Sensor

Hi, I have a 2000 Audi TT Roadster. Nothing Special no modifications. The car believes that I always have the roof open and so when I put the key in the ignition the side windows go down a little ready for me to retract the roof. If I hit the handle used to unlock the roof, the windows go back up, which makes me believe that the problem lies with the sensor (Wherever that may be). Does anyone know if this is this something I can fix myself.

There is a switch at the top of the windshield on the drivers side. You need to adjust the tab that engages when the top is locked. Pretty easy to see when looking directly at it. Use a screwdriver and push/bend the tab a little to the left.

I have the same problem, but I jus put a piece of folded paper in between the latch and the switch. Won't risk breaking the switch with a piece of paper

Remember your adjustment should allow for a "jump gap" of @35mm when the top opens.

Very helpful. Thank you. I followed your instructions and it solved the roof sensor issue immediately.

I don't want to bend this TOO much, how much would you say that you need to bend this tab? driver side, bending it towards the outside of the vehicle correct?
