Default Rough Idle

When my baby has been sitting around for a couple of hours, ill start her up and it will idle at 1250 RPM's with a loud noise coming from the exhaust. After a couple of minutes, the idle will go down to 750 and the noise will disappear completely. Even while reving in neutral. Whats going on?

Thanks in advance

Im thinking its the secondary air pump, when ist actually working. Dont know to much about it, so i could be wrong. Since this only happens when the car is cold (hasnt been running).

Mine does the same thing in the morning. Its pretty loud, i can hear it outside but its literally only feet from inside. Once it stops (about 5 minutes or so) I cant even hear it from inside. But sometimes it doesnt come on, wonder why?

Its normal, its the pre-warmup for the engine only if its completely cold.

on the older cars you had a manual choke to enrich the fuel/air for cold start ups and the new have it built into the ECU ( injection vs carburettors ) its all electronic these days ( tickling the choke as it was called to keep the engine running on cold mornings ) and called the good old days
