royal purple oil
It's probably not any better than any other pure synthetic (Mobil 1, Amzoil or Redline). One way to see how your oil is working is to send a sample in for analysis next time you change your oil. They will give you a complete report including an estimate of how many more miles you could run between changes. I went to Blackstone Labs and got their free test kit sent to me. It costs $20 plus postage to send your sample in and you'll get a report back in less than a week (depending upon how you send it).
man idk. i've used just about every oil out there and i think as long as you go with Royal...Mobil 1...Castrol syntech(i prefer) your good. i watched all those videos and the thing that is misleading is that they claim it gained HP from just the oil change...when in fact they did all the fluid changes at once(tranny, diff, oil, etc) and who knows how long the old oil had been in there when they did the normal oil test...the one that was impressive was the one about the motocycle and how it reduced the engine heat!
when you test syn oil vs dino oil guess who whens each time regaurdless of manufactures? THats right syn oil. When they make claims you always see "against the leading conventional oil" ie dino oil. I have seen peoples lab anyalisis of a few oils like mobil 1 that have been run fro 15k miles and are in still great operating conditions. So why pay more for oil when you can use mobil 1 or castrol for under $6 when some are approaching $10?
Yea I dont beleive the hp gain but I was just curious about how good it really was and if anyone has tried it. I would up for it if it does reduce engine heat but dont want to give up any other qualities.
I run Castrol GTX full syn in my TT. I run it in pretty much everything that I have, no complaints so far. I was thinking of going with the Purple but idk thats just alot of $$$. I change my oil every 4-5k no matter what I am running.

want more hp out of your oil? use less, and drop the frictional losses. Sure, its only a nominal gain, but it is a gain!

Nope, I'm talking amount of oil. You don't need your crank sloshing around a bunch of oil, theres plenty dripping down to it.
Suppose I should have made some sort of note about it being sorta retarded for a street car, 1-2hp isn't worth the trouble it could potentially bring you.
