Some mornings when its colder than others, my secondary air pump does not come on when I start my car. Is this normal?

 

Its all controlled by the ECU, if you dont have any codes or CEL's then your probably alright. Its only for emissions purposes anyways.

 

Sweet, I pulled a code the other day P1296 but i had it cleared. I looked around on the forums for this code and i couldnt find a definite conclusion as to why the code was thrown, there were reasons of a faulty temp sensor which I have the new one and thats about it. I was thinking that it may be because I didnt let my car warm up and it was freezing outside and I was driving like a bad *** because I was running late to thanksgiving dinner. I dont know if that could have caused it to throw the code or not.

 

Yea that could be a problem.

 

i wouldnt worry unless the code comes back. Also the sai helps warm up the car faster.

 

Well thats why I was pissed it didnt kick on in the time that I needed it to warm up quicker.

 

Higher rpms will do the same thing right, just dont rev the crap out of it or drive it to redline...
