Default Servicing

I'm at 74k and my service light is now on. The previous owner told me it had a major service at 69k, with oil changed, haldex changed, and timing belt.

I know I'm in need of rear brake pads soon, but is there anything else besides changing the oil and filter that I should worry about?

Also, are there any write-ups for doing the oil change? I did it in my previous car, but I'm just kind of intimidated by the Audi. Too expensive to fix, especially since I'm broke.
Any tips, tricks, suggestions, etc.?

Thank you much!

I don't really know of any other things that have to be done at that mileage. but as for the oil change its just the same as anyother car, I did have trouble getting the oem filter off. I ended up having to take it to jiffy lube and let them change it for me, but i had them put on a K&N oil filter which has a nut type thing on the end of it so you can use a wrench to get it off, and i have been changing it myself ever since. I prefer mobil1 0w-40 and a K&N(hp-2005) oil filter

you shouldnt use the k&n oil filter.....its a fram if i remember correct. there is a write up somewheres on the net that tells how crappy any aftermarket filter for our cars are. google it. at pep boys they have a nice filter wrench it looks like a big claw wrench. there was a tsb that says to use this upgraded filter that is considerably bigger than stock. its is a oem filter....which are the best. there is a sludging problem with the stock 1.8t filters.

I use the purolator pureone filters.

Tip for changing oil: LOTS OF RAGS Its a huge mess, oil runs down the front of the oil pan, gets all over the secondary air pump... Its the worst part of changing the oil.
