we recently purchased 2005 TT with the Sline package and 18 inch wheels. being our first sports car, my wife feels the road noise in highway is just too much for her to take. We were wondering if this has anything to do with the super thin tire on the 18 inch wheels and would changing to smaller wheel (and thus add more rubber) would help much.

 

it would definitely make a difference... depending on your final solution i do have 16s if youd like

how many miles on the tires? more worn out = more noise.

 

somthing should be wrong if it makes that much noise it must be the tires i have 19s and it is quieter than before . make sure you have no wear

 

Get dynamat or something similar put in instead...
driver & passenger floor area and doors should do the trick.

It'll deaden a lot more outside noise than changing wheels / tires, and be cheaper.

haha im just going to wait til a company comes out with a 180 quatrro dp... all the custom stuff gives me a headache

 

be patient with t-carbon's... their 180ttq dpis coming out real soon . hopefully they send me mine by this weekend. i'll let you know how it goes.
