How is the HKS/GReddy boob filter that much better than the K&N filter? I was actually thinking about getting the K&N FIPK intake.

I don't want to deal with having to get a refil disc everytime I want a clean filter. And for the MAF issue, can't you just spray some MAF cleaner in the intake every so often?..I know the intake filter oil can be problematic to some peoples MAF..

If the oiled K&N filters are a guarunteed future problem..then I guess I'll have to look for a non-oiled filter..

thanks

Most of the time people have problems with K&N when they clean them and over oil them. Your fine using them, most people do.

Hey I am not looking forward to the replacement but you can here the oil being sucked out of the air filter and you can smell it when your driving. Then if the MAF goes out while on the road your out of luck. Take it from some one who made that mistake. If you want I will sell you the K&N and some magic beans.

those two responses above are completely opposite of eachother..haha..

do those magic beans dance?..like those crazy popping beans..?

I'm gonna hold off buying an intake until I also get a nice DV so I can install both at the same time. thanks for the offer tho.

but i probably will go with the K&N.

Ha no the majic beans don't dance, I have been trying to get them to but no luck. So I ran it for about a month and a half I liked the sound but honestly just make sure to get the one not pre oiled. If your careful oiling that thing up will cause no problems. If you want to go problem free and feel a little more air flow go with the shroom, if you want a really cool sounding filter go with K&N. The car sounded like a jet engine with K&N.

honestly. you guys drive audi's. so whats so bad about spending another $12-$15 every 10k miles or so to change the element filter on shrooms?

plus that takes about 2-3 min. of your worthless times as opposed to spending more time re-oiling + cleaning the cones. been there, done that.

the filter element is really not that big of a deal, if you want to possible save some $$ ... then just buy the refills with the filter , will save you shipping $$
