Default Smoked Taillights?

I think I like it.

Whatare everyones thoughts? Experiences with pre-cut film vs spray? Cincy I know you mentioned something about the film once before.

I have a film on mine, its not a very clean install but I'm getting them sprayed by a friend later this spring, he's going to do it with black paint mixed with clearcoat

damn. Nice work, those look pretty sick, especially when you compare them side by side with the stockers.

i would use film for headlights (not saying i would) like when vw guys make them yellow and spray the rears. I just 2 weeks ago sprayed my brothers side markers and turn signals and it was pretty easy. Just make sure you get a good sand on them and spray light coats because if you dont you will go way to dark before you know it. The tint spray is almost clear when it goes on and looks like it need 20 coats before it gets dark so be patient.

Steve i was actually thinking about doing it like yours on my way home from class today. I never liked the tinted tails on any other car besides black but was thinking about putting a coat or 2 onmine to tone down the red. How many coats did you use? im guessing no more than 3.

I just bought the spray and I'm going to do it on Saturday. I have a buddy that has the Hella lights and he would have done the spray if he knew about it. Would have saved $300.

I did mine with 3 coats of VHT Nightshades and 7 (yes seven) coats of clear.

Probably, but the more coats of clear you get on it, the deeper the shine. But I'm not one to do anything other than to the extreme.

This may be a dumb question but I've never actually driven a car with smoked lenses or taillights. Is your visibility reduced at all? It would seem that tinting your lights would filter out much of the light. I know they look sick but are the lights still just as functional.
