Default Speaker replacement

I'm getting ready to replace my shitty paper Bose speakers with something better. I still need to find out:
(1) what sizes
(2) locations
(3) how do I get past the panels? DIY?
(4) any specifics(ohms etc.)?

dunno sizes, but you have.. if its a coupe.. woofers to the sides of the rear seat, mids and tweeters in the doors, and little speaker tucked inside one of the defrost vents (you can see it easily looking thru the windshield).

panels are agonizing to remove, because you think you're terribly breaking every one. You basically just pull on them, and they pop loose with a terrible sound. Door cards will need the door handles removed first IIRC. The defrost thing you'll have to pop the little end caps off the vent before you can remove teh main part.

don't take my word as absolute truth though, this is just stuff that I've sorta poked around at with my car. I have no intention of screwing with stereo stuff. If I do anything, i'll be to pull the stereo under the grounds of weight savings.
