Default speaker sizes and headunit questions?

I've decided that the stock bose system sucks. If someone could help me please to let me know what the speaker sizes are in the '01 TTwith the bose system? Also, is there some kind of kit you can buy to turn the bose opening in the TT to a standard DIN size? And last, what kind of clearance can I expect behind the headunit?

Thanks!

I have an 01 TT coupe that had a Bose stock.
I currently have the following setup:
[ul][*]HU Alpine IVA-D310 DVD / PXA-H701 Sound Processor[*]Front Zapco Ref 350.2 / Focal Utopia 165w3 6½" Components[*]Rear Zapco Ref 350.2 / Focal Polyglass 6½"[*]Bass Zapco Ref 1000.4 / Four CDT ES06+ [/ul]
Dont know about the conversion kit. Mine's been gutted and rebuilt from the ground up. I've got all 6½" drivers in all positions. Small ring adapters req'd for rear fill behind rear interior panels.

Hey thanks, too bad the 5.25" infinity kappacoaxials I bought for my now totalled bimmer won't fit. Guess i'll have to sell and rebuy some 6.5" components. I think I read somewhere too that the front bose speakers are 2 ohm? Anyone confirm this?

You can get adapters to fit those infinity coaxials. I would look into ring adapters before replacing the speakers altogether.

i have 5 1/4 all around. Best Buy pulled up my car on their system and said that they require 5 1/4 all around .. even though the brackes are for 6 1/2 the magnets on the back of most 6 1/2 speakers will not fit in the rear without mods.

so i have 5 1/4 all around JBLs and a pioneer 10" sub in a box in the back with a Sony deck and a mono amp to power sub+ capacitor. deck is find for powring speakers, 200/4=50w/ch by the deck, this is plenty for me.

Yeah the carbon fiber one caught my eye. I dont really plan on buying anything else carbon fiber besides maybe engine coverers in the future. So I think it will stand out nicely.
