Default stock lug bolts w/aftermarket wheels?

Does anybody run the stock lug bolts with aftermarket wheels? I've been searching, and so far only found suggestions to use different bolts. I used my stock ones on a set of TSWs for about a week while I was deciding if I liked tham and had no trouble.

Not a good idea. The stock bolts are ball seats whereas the aftermarket wheels are virtually all conical. Hence the bottom of the bolt doesn't fit the wheel properly and will result in high stresses in the bolt holes on the wheels.

I figured that was the case with aftermarket wheels having a conical seat, but I was thrown off at the H&R spacers that come with studs that workfor both aftermarket and stock wheels and how they would work with both types.

Depends on the type of spacer...
My guess is the bolts those spacers come with are to hold the spacer into the hub (which is why it doesn't matter what wheel you have).
If that's the case, you'd need to buy longer lugs to hold the wheels to the spacers.

Beccas right, the hardware to bolt the spacer to the hub has nothing to do with the format of the holes in your rim. You'd still need to use the correct bolts to attach your rim to the spacer, which is just an extension of your hub now. Basically back to square one, where you're bolting directly to your hub.

blackforestindustries.com has some decent products. you can choose wheel bolts in either 12 or 14mm dia, conical or ball seat, and lengths of 1, 1.25, 1.5 or 2in. I think I may run their 20mm spacers (that require different bolts) in all four corners (they dont make 25 in 5x100) Our stock wheel bolts threads appear to be 1 1/16 in long (27mm) If I use those and 20mm spacers, I assume I need to add 20mm to the bolt length to make it work, which will be 47mm or about 1 7/8in long. If I ran the 2in length wheel bolt, will the extra 1/8in thread in all the way, or will the bolt be too long to tighten down the wheel?

I have seen the thread that talks about bolt length, but didn't see the issue of too long of bolta addressed in it. I am also thinking if I ordered the 2in length, if I ever went with 25mm spacers then the 2in bolts would work for those, too.
