looks like i won't be able to afford the audi... so
if you guys can list cars that meet these requirements that are less expensive, great and thanks
heres what im looking for:
1) Sporty look just like the audi, or s2k honda or s4 audi, somethin' cool like that for a youngster 16-17 year old
2) Power: I was only going to be able to afford the 180hp with the TT... so if the car you guys think i should get has more power than this, that would be cool too
3) Obviously, cheaper than the audi , something like a toyota, nissan, honda, MAYBE acura, somethin easy to maintain
4) Stick shift
5) modify-able

Yup I had a 1991 toyota mr2 turbo...I loved that car a very rare car something that not many people had...Really sporty, rear wheel drive and a lot of mods to choose from...you should def start out with a car like that before you get into an audi....
Well, I'd say get an Acura RSX Type-S, if you want a E36(1995-1999) BMWM3, you can find some decent priced ones.
Since your 16, and you want to find a car to modify, I'd say japanese is the way to go, since japanese cars have a much more wide range of different aftermarket parts, cheaper than euro aftermarket parts as well, and easy to take care of.
Like smoothTT said, if I were u, for my 1st car I'd get an AE86 corolla, or S13 240sx and do a motor swap, and start drifting. Another alternative is, EG Civic hatch and drop a K24 in it, you'll pretty much kill most of the cars you see out on the road.
And you said "Honda andMAYBE Acura", lol they're the same company.

I've owned cars from Japan, Germany, Italy, Sweden, and the United States. I am a mechanic, a weekend roadracer, and a huge car buff. One thing I'd like to get across is there is NOTHING wrong with American cars! You want performance and a manual. That's great! Your on the right track. Get a rear drive car. 240sx, 3-series BMW, Mustang, and 300Z would be fine. But look into a Porshe 944. Get one in real good shape with all the maintianence done. That's a good looking driver's car that gets respect from real car guys. And it has enouph power to be fun, but not enouph to kill you.
Just get a cheap car for your first one. There is no need to have a dream car at 16 years old. Get a civic and if you want it to be decently fast swap the motor for a b18 or get the integra with the b18 in it add headers and exhaust + gutting it. I have a 91 civic hatchback with a JDM H22in the garage and i can stomp on M3's and it just so happends that it was my first car. Little FYI my civic could smoke my TT also.
my eyes have been on the acura RSX... and the lexus IS300... if anyone knows where i can find these for around 10k used, around year 2000, please advise me i am desperately looking
Im in the car business and Fat Chance of finding something like that for that money. IF you do Check teh CARFAX im sure it has been thrashed.
I think youshould JUST buy a TT and buy what you like.
