Should you be able to hear the turbo from inside the car? I just got it yesterday and i can hear the trademark turbo sound from inside the car, kinda would like to hear it but i guess you have to have a bigger turbo. I have the 225 tt

The 180 is really quiet, the 225 I think is notably louder inside the cabin. So yes, you will hear something, just the same as you hear tire noise, and engine noise, ect, on any car. Want louder? Consider an aftermarket air intake. I think the foam 'mushroom' filters sound AMAZING on the car, you'd have to get your head stuck in the turbo to get any more noise. Want quieter.... whats wrong with you? Dont buy a turbo car, or turn the radio up or something...

'Want quieter.... whats wrong with you? Dont buy a turbo car, or turn the radio up or something...' ... that was a nice one achTTung.

To be honest with you I couldn't really hear the turbo on my TT 225. I don't know what the stock air box has but it soundsproof the turbo really good. I have just replaced the stock airbox with a K&N induction kit and the sound is great. I can hear the air going into the engine, the turbo and the blow off sound which is great!!!

Now bigger turbo means a lot of changes (and loads of money) which personally I wouldn't recommend. At least for now!!!

Well, I live in the UK so I don't really know if it will help you the fact that I got it from London!

I think that if you visit http://www.knfilters.com/ you will be able to search for the product you want and find a dealer near you where you can buy it. Also I guess there are loads of websites where you can buy it from. Just google it...'K&N induction kit' or '57i induction kit'

Which TT do you have? Is it the 180 or 225?

Sorry forgot to post it previously:

The page for the induction kits is http://www.knfilters.com/air_intake/audi_tt.aspx

Now you can choose one according to the year your TT was manufactured.
You can go either for the 57i kit 57-0477 if you have a 180 TT or for the 57i kit 57-0479 if you have a 225 TT

Hope that makes sense
