Hey Neur0tic,
--Would you mind posting or PM'n some pics of the AUX peices (Hoses/Clamps/Bolts...ETC). I'm doing a FMIC install also and seeing the brackets and hose shapes would be super beneficial to me. With that info maybe I can fab something up...[sm=signs003.gif]

thanks!

Took me about 6hrs to put on my FMIC, but the hardest was taking off the bumper and then putting the wheels back on lol... Once the bumper was off thought it was a piece of cake, I also did smoked turn signals in during this time. Good luck, the intercooler is acually just as thick as the side mounts it might be just a tad thicker so that can give you a idea of what it kinda looks like, also the actual cooling area is just as wide as Forge or APR's intercoolers. Those companies intercoolers make theirs a bit skinner because they put part of it up inside the bumper where yes it will soak up heat, but NO where it will not get direct airflow. Plus their end tanks are bigger making it look bigger. This is why T-Carbon made their intercooler just how they did, its smaller in heights but thicker and the whole thing is in the direct path of airflow.

Yea, I agree. just from looking at the design of the three.... this one looks as though it'll be more proficient per square inch of surface area mostly because the others are hidden out of direct airflow and will get heatsoak. We'll see. I'll post pics of the clear corners, angel eyes, and FMIC install when im done. Thx for the help;

it is a heat sink, they dont need total airflow to cool. It really comes down to size and whats one inside that counts (like your mom tells you about girls) not just the exposed area.

Yea, I guess that's true. But at the same time... Heat will only transfer to something with less heat. It will also transfer more heat faster to a cooler surface. wouldn't that make a difference?

Then again... the air passing through would be ridiculously hot and would be much hotter than a FMIC with or without direct airflow and the difference would be very slight in relation to the temp difference of the Charge air passing through . -shrugs-

I say for the extra 500 you save go buy a w/m kit and call it a day!

Edit here is a pic of my FMIC and the stock SMICS next to it.

I dont really dig the w/m kits. I looked into them... and unless you have an extra program setup to kick in a more conservative program when the methanol runs out... you'll blow something up. they spray at between 7-12gallons per hour and the tank is usually 2-5 quarts. that gives you like 10-20 minutes before you have to refill the methanol.
In order to get the most out of it... you'll have to run a more agressive program with more timing and more boost. But what happens when you run out of methanol to keep the engine safe and you're still hitting those high boost numbers and running such a hot detonation without the methanol to cool or condition it? They have a box so that when the methanol runs out... it kicks in your regular ECU program... but that means you need to have TWO programs... AND that box to failsafe it. Otherwise... you have to run it and stop every 10-20 minutes to refill your w/m tank.

my two cents... but the kit is fairly reasonable... but when you add all that stuff to it to make it work right... it becomes expensive unless you're will to refill every 10 miles or so.

or you could just use it at the track..

daily driving = 93octane

track use = meth program.

and dont you know meth will really mess you up?

Most moderatly sized tanks will go for an entire tank of gas or more depending on how much you inject at a time and size of tank. You can also either use your ww resiour so you have a low signal or even get one with the kit. You do realize that when you inject water/meth that you are wot and boosting right? this means you will only inject for a few second busts at a time.

I didn't know that actually. I thought it was a continuous spray. heh. Im an idiot. nvm.
Im just scared of themeth running out of fluid and me still having it all tuned agressively for some reason and blowing all kinds of **** up.
