Hi All.

Got a problem and hope you can help. Snapped the cable attached to the hood release lever today. Is there now any way to get the hood open as the battery is dead and need to jump the car. Any help greatly appreciated, thanks, Mike.

 

This happened to me a couple weeks ago. It didn't break but I noticed it was getting lose and difficult to open. As I had to wait a few days for a new cable, I asked about what to do to get it opened if necessary. The service rep indicated that there is an Audi tool which can reach in through the grill and pop it open. That probably disent help much but as far as the battery, have you tried one of those cigarette lighter cables. I used one one and it worked OK but that was on a Wrangler.

 

Thanks for this. I will see if I can borrow the tool (unlikely) and if not then I'll give the cigarette lighter option a shot. Appreciate the feedback. Mike.
