Are there Any Aftermarket Cams???
Hey does anyone know if they make aftermarket cams for the 2001 TT 225? I would realy like some lower end power and figured cams would help out alot but i cant seem to find anything on google. Let me know if you can, thanks.
yeah, there are, but is the little bit of low end power really worth the $600 investment?
It sounds silly, but thats probably what you're going to pay. Cat Cams come to mind as a manufacturer, maybe you can find something.

Cams aren't a very efficient upgrade on a force inducted car, not to mention you probably wouldn't pass emmisions anymore because the valves would be held open longer.
I think its funny when people buy elims and then want to spend money on cams. If you spent the money right the first time you wouldnt need the cams to make the same power. Cat and Revolver are both good cams. Cat has 3 version available, a mild, med, and agressive cam. The mild-med is all you can really use on the street. Not to mention you arent going to make enough power with the turbo to use cams.
As for the cams on FI motors, they make a huge differnce depending on the motor. On cars such as a sr20det, they make a nice gain with a stock gt25r-gt28r turbo. The 1.8t isnt as responsive to cams until you are running atleast a real gt2871r or larger. They also wont give you any low end, they will mainly increase the upper power band and hold tq longer into the rpm band. The longer you hold tq, the more hp you will make.

honestly i was just wondering if it was worth it to get them cause ill be putting some scat rods in there in about a month, so i figured ill update some other internals since the motor will be out anyways. If cams aren't the way to go then ill just get a front mount and meth/injection
I didnt mean to come off mean, but i have seen a handful of people do the same thing. Its just not a smart path. But once you get rods and w/m, you can increase the boost a little more along with timing. This will net better gains than cams on a gt28 family turbo.
