Default For those who have a FMIC

I am custom routing my new FMIC and would like to know from those who have done this what degree mandrel bends to buy and how many. Also a good source for these would be great.

how do you want to route it, drivers side down like normal fmic, C style cooler like APR offers or the gay long *** wrap around?

^ i was going to attempt to do a C style, top to bottom inlet/outlet FMIC for my 180TTQ but ended up scrapping the idea and sold my FMIC on whoretex.

i got quoted for roughly $450 to have it installed on the bumper support, bracketed, custom MAP sensor adapter welded and all stainless steel pipes bent and routed.

keep in mind the core size/area for what size turbo your running. don't want a huge puge pressure drop.

I have a stock turbo, but will be chipped in February. A guy from the local euro meet has a new fmic to sell me.

Anyway, tell me about this MAP sensor--is this required for me? Is there an advantage to stainless steel over polished aluminum?

Forgive me, I'm new to European tuning and especially turbos, but not new to tuning.

You have a map sensor, you need a bung for it to be mounted in between the ic and tb. Aluminum is better since it is light and doesnt hold heat.

To go drivers side, these are your bends

and will fit like this

You can just buy those EJ pipes for ~$350 and get yourself a good core 31" long and 3-3.5" deep and be out all of $600 for everything. Those are for the 2.5" pipes, im sure the 2" street pipes will be a little less if you dont plan on more than 300bhp

^ $600 for a FMIC really hurts on a stock k03 turbo though. especially for 180's. i mean, it's really more for to give the TT a nice shiny smile.

i'd put it towards a nice t3s60 fund or 3" DP/tbe. but in the end, maxing out the k03 makes my head hurt ;[ .

If you dont mind losing the side grills, you can get an ebay gti/jetta kit for ~$350.
