Default Thwarted!

So, I only knew the size of the triple square for the rear subframe by eye, bought the only ones I could find, and when I get under the car, find out I'm still one size too small. I have a 12mm, think I probably need a 14mm.

Soo... unless I can get one from the dealer, which I don't want to do (the dealer tools and equip website says $25 for the bit I need) I'm going to have to hold off another week. I'll instead do my oil cooler tomorrow, so I can start collecting bugs with the cooler, instead of dust as it slides around the hatch.

I'll be able to take a couple pics of the haldex unit tomorrow in the daylight too, so people feeling around for the filter will know exactly what they're feeling. You probably didn't know theres actually a haldex fluid plug for checking the level w/o draining. Manual still says fill thru the drain, but if you could get a hose here, I don't see why you couldnt fill from here to and avoid splills. We'll see when the old rear end is out, and I open it up.

Default RE: Thwarted!

yep, should've done a bit more research...

looks like the only damn use for this thing is the rear end according to erwin tool T-10035

Found there's another name for triple squares too, in europe they're XZN screws, so this would be a XZN-14 bit (14mm)
