Default tie-bar?

Hey esteemed af-er's. I have a question: is this tie bar the same thing as the strut brace you can see at the top rear of your engine bay? Thanks
http://www.mjmautohaus.com/catalog/p...oducts_id=1622

I ask because if it is that asme part, mines chewed to crap around the edges where it mounts, and I am ordering my other suspension parts tomm, so Id like to get this too if its correct.

If you read down, thats for the R32, not the same as what the TT has. If your strut brace shouldn't be moving to 'chew the crap out of the edges', it should be a rigid mount. You sure its bolted down nice and tight?

It's a lower tie bar for an R32. Won't fit on the TT

Yeah I saw that I thought perhaps it would fit because I saw it listed (i think ) in the mk1 tt classifieds post by mjm autohaus, but then maybe I am just special :-)

It ties the lower control arms together, it's not for the strut brace. I haven't looked under an R32 in comparison to a TT, but I am guessing that the R32 has a clear shot between them. The TT has the stiffener and several other pieces that hang low that block that route.

Also says: "Please note that lower tie-bar is for R32 applications only. For TT owners, an MJM $50 Gift Card is offered as a substitute"

sorry to resurrect this, but does any one manufacture an aftermarket tie bar for the tt 225? Checked several vendors without luck, mjmautohaus couldnt source one either
